26 Hours of Prayer

Within hours of the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary school, it was obvious that prayer was going to be essential in the coming days.  Since then, we have seen God’s presence working as His people all over the world have lifted up prayers on behalf of Newtown.

It is evident that the power of prayer has brought this community peace and comfort.

Newtown Christian Church would like to invite you to join with them in “26 HOURS OF PRAYER” for the victims and families of this tragedy.  We are committing to 26 continuous hours, one hour for each family, of focused prayer, closing with a special worship service.

LOCAL RESDIENTS:

We invite you to join us at the Newtown Meeting House where we will gather to pray.  This event is open to anyone who wishes to attend.  Each family has been assigned an hour, in which we will publicly and silently pray for them.  We will provide a list of suggested items to pray for, should you need guidance.  We hope that you will be able to come pray with us at some point, whether it is for 5 minutes, 5 hours, or 26 hours.  If you are not able to join us, please consider praying from your home following this schedule:
